A product can have zero 1-star reviews and still be quietly leaking trust, because the real, fixable objections often don't show up as anger. They show up as a caveat buried inside praise.
A 4-star review isn't a happy customer with nothing to say. It's frequently a customer who liked the product enough to keep it and buy it, but not enough to call it perfect. The gap between "kept it" and "loved it" is usually the single most actionable sentence in the review. Founders who only read 1-star reviews never see that sentence, because it's sitting three stars higher than where they're looking.

Naming an honest limitation before a buyer has to guess at it usually reads as confidence, not confession, and it gives the buyer permission to trust the rest of the claims too.
What to measure after
Track the return rate and the language in new reviews over the next four to six weeks, not just star average: the goal isn't to move ratings up, it's to see whether the "wish it were quieter" phrase starts thinning out because buyers already knew what they were getting. If it does, that's the objection closing. If new complaints surface a different pattern, run ingest_evidence again; review objections shift as a listing changes, and last quarter's finding isn't a permanent diagnosis.
